Concept statement
My shirt design was formed through my idea that to start anything you have to take that first step. Even though some journeys may be arduous I wanted to show that every step counts, so persist to prevail. The phrase “step into it”, for me, means to make things happen. The person in my design is walking the footpath of life. Exercise isn’t just physical!
Where in the world would you go to and why?
I would love to go to Italy so I could immerse myself in the culture, such as the music, language, food, family, art and sculpture. I am currently studying Italian, and I feel i have natural affinity with it.This makes me want to practice and use Italian on an everyday basis. Another factor that tempts me towards this country is the food, which is a big part of everyday living. As a food technology student and food lover, I would definitely enjoy learning more about Italy's renowned and diverse cuisine, and experiencing it first hand.
Favourite stuff?
I enjoy participating in sailing, volleyball and soccer. I also like to read, and watch television in my spare time. My favourite food is ice cream /gelato, as it is just so yum!! My favourite movie is "Ace Ventura" because it's hilarious!
Three people you'd take to a desert island?
Adam Brody, because in a recent episode he erected a tent, so could provide shelter, seeing thats probably his only practical skill. My Mum would definately keep me company. My final choice would be: Hercule Poirot (from Agatha Christie novels and the character from the movies) because he would definately come in handy because he finds things, and he would amuse us with his funny moustache.
What will you be doing in 10 years?
I have lots of ideas for what I could be doing in the future including teaching, studying and practicing law and/or environmental science, and maybe even raising children. But for now I'll just wait and see.
Why should you win this competition?
Because I would be absolutely stoked to go on exchange, and the money would definately help me achieve my dream! My design depicts who I am and what I am willing to do to accomplish my goals. I have always worked hard to gain achedemic achievement and winning this would make me happy and inspired to go even further in life. I wish everyone luck, your designs are all fantastic!!!
