Concept statement
I was inspired to create something unique. I decided to go with a more minimalistic design; something with solid colours and simple shapes. I used a few Photoshop tools such as, the photo filters, airbrushes and the basic Photoshop leaf brush. The theme “walk” was an interesting theme because it really challenged me to think out of the box. The concept behind this design "walk away” is based on life and decisions; that we should all choose our own paths in life. Linking the theme "walk" to many other themes/ideas such as exploration and life was challenging. Overall I had fun designing this.
Where in the world would you go to and why?
I would most likely go to Japan, Europe, or china because they are all amazing countries with interesting lifestyles and culture. I love Japanese pop-art. Europe is beautiful :) and if I go to china, I can improve my Chinese. My family's origins are mainly china and Japan. If i go to Japan I might be able to pick up the language. Most importantly, i'll be able to taste the art culture over there.
Favourite stuff?
I enjoy designing and photography, listening to music, and hanging out with my friends. FAV ITEMS: blue blanky, mouse and computer. Music and the city is my source of inspiration. Food=brainpower. I love chocolate(who doesn't) and spaghetti. I also like design magazines. I heart my muse(ipod).
Three people you'd take to a desert island?
hmmm...mm..this is kinda hard. I'd probably take Jesse Metcalfe(desperate housewife), super mario, and astroboy. On the other hand, maybe Brandon Routh(superman), and 2 of my good friends, for a nice chat on the beach.
What will you be doing in 10 years?
Perhaps working with designers, or being a designer myself. I'd love to have a job where i could travel a lot and work with different people. I love graphic design and everything and anything that involves designing and expressing fresh ideas. My dream job would be to join or start a design company.
Why should you win this competition?
Because I believe my T-shirt design stood out among many of the other entries. I'm in love with design and I’m passionate for what I do. An exchange program or a new laptop would be an awesome opportunity. I'd love to travel and see the world, taste the culture. A new laptop would help to improve my design skills and perhaps cooperate with me. An opportunity like this only comes around once. Thank you all for voting, and all the best to the finalists.
