Concept statement
This design captures the importance of experiencing other cultures and customs to the full. It portrays the cultural significance of Egypt and that you should walk like an Egyptian, and not walk normally. Trying out their food, traditions, clothes and trying to speak the language is all about enjoying different cultures from around the world.
Where in the world would you go to and why?
I would love to go to on a really big holiday experiencing around the world. I suppose a place where I could just rest, relax and have fun will just do. This would be great because I've been really busy and tired from school and have never had a good resting holiday since Year 8. Just to get away from work and my academic studies. Camping would be terrific as well.
Favourite stuff?
I don't have too many favourite stuff. My favourite colour is orange, subject is art, hobby is graphic designing, food is fish & chips!
Three people you'd take to a desert island?
1. Jesus 2. My twin brother Philip 3. My best friend Ollie
What will you be doing in 10 years?
In 10 years, I will definitely still be graphic designing and loving visual art. I hope to become a professional graphic design or a biochemist, travelling the world to discover more about nature and its relationship with chemistry and how it will benefit the world.
Why should you win this competition?
I'm already really excited about getting into the finals! It really shouldn't be about winning but the professional experience you get from entering. If you put in 100% to the competition, it will really boost your design portfolio and you always keep learning and improving- no matter whether you win or not. The more experience you get, the better you'll be. One of my favourite motto is that 'Everything is Art!" and you can't really single out a piece of artwork. This links in very well with the Student Exchange motto 'Experience is Everything' and how true that is. I'm already very privileged to have experienced entering Make Your Mark, and that's all that counts- it's already 'everything'!
