Concept statement
my design is focused around the idea of following your path and going where YOU want to go. there may be people out there telling you there's more more to it, you can go no further, but i want to remind people that there's always more out there that you reach and make your own.
Where in the world would you go to and why?
england, ireland scotland and holland/netherlands whatever floats your boat. these are the places that my family originates and i would love to go there and learn about the cultures and maybe trace some old steps, who knows.
Favourite stuff?
some of my absolute favourite times are on family holidays, especially those rainy days where you all stay inside, rug up with hot chocolate and play crap on your neighbour (cardgame) and talking... and scary movie nights with my friends where we all stay up till like five trying to scared and we just end up laughing at them. my favourite person right now is adam spencer; he spoke at the step to the future youth forum, he's awesome! my favourite movie/ show/book has to be pride and prejudice (we're studying it in extension, and i've fallen in love)... and i have this GREAT earwax candle collection. i'm thinking of starting my own business next year after the HSC. so far it's all come from my great uncle felix, so i'm thinking i'm gonna need more volunteers... :)
Three people you'd take to a desert island?
i would definitely take my 2 best friends because that is the best entertainment you can get ("if you can't entertain yourself"...right?), TRIPOD!!!!! (Scod Yon and Gatesy rock my sox!) and someone who can count
What will you be doing in 10 years?
hopefully travelling the world, meeting new people, discovering new things about the world and myself; drawing what i see and remembering what I feel... that's my dream, but i would love to do a media course at uni or visual arts or maths (some way that i can either express myself or use my head... or both)
Why should you win this competition?
my design has a message to be individual, and by winning this shirt would be out there for people to 'listen to'. [and then we can all be individuals, just like everybody else! ;)] I'd love to win, but honestly, just getting in the top 10 is absolutely awesome! winning this competition would benefit me in more ways than the art and design side of things. i have wanted to go on an exchange all my life and this competition has presented an awesome opportunity, which i may even be able to go to these places i mentioned and do all those things which would mean most to me...
