Concept statement
I was lucky enough to have two of my t-shirts selected in the final. My first t-shirt is called EXPLORE. Great experiences come when you get out there and really explore. The fish appears to be in a bowl but in fact the whole t-shirt being blue represents water that the fish could explore. All it has to do is get out there to experience everything. This can apply to anyone in life. _____________________________________________________________ My second t-shirt was POSTCARD OF A DREAM. Your dreams, ambitions, experiences and goals lead you to success in life. This t-shirt represents a place that exists in your mind or your dreams. A place where you can dare to go beyond everyday reality. Yet a postcard is proof that you really can experience your dreams, set your goals to really experience life.
Where in the world would you go to and why?
I want to go to so many places in the world but I would have to say Paris. Ever since I was little I have wanted to go there. It is such a mecca for fashion, style, taste and design.
Favourite stuff?
Item: My photo album. Nothing could replace memories. Pastime: Photography and Designing. Person: I love so many people I don’t think I could ever have a favorite! Food: Pizza, pasta, chicken and fairy floss Movie: Amelié, Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds and Zoolander for comedy Book: Where’s Wally Band: Jimmy Eat World
Three people you'd take to a desert island?
People I would like to meet would be Alfred Hitchcock, Amelia Earheart and Paul Frank. Or instead for fun; a masseuse, a chef and my boyfriend. Then it would be more of a holiday resort than a desert island!
What will you be doing in 10 years?
Hopefully loving life and living it to the full. I have always wanted a career in design, visual communication or fashion design. In 10 years I would love to own my own business in that field.
Why should you win this competition?
I would, of course, love to win. I have put a lot of thought into each of my designs and I feel I meet the task set in the Make your Mark competition. I would be proud to represent Student Exchange Australia and feel I would be a good representative for both the organizers and the sponsor. This competition is means a lot more to me than winning it hopefully will be a step forward in my dream to a career in the design field.
