Concept statement

This design is based on the physical and/or mental cages people put on themselves. The cage represents the perception of restriction and inability due to a low self-esteem. The bird flying from the cage symbolises the opening of new worlds and destinations. Before with the restriction of the 'cage' you could not go anywhere but now that the cage is open you can go anywhere. People just have to believe in themselves and their abilities and where ever they want to go they can. Flight=Freedom=Destinations

Where in the world would you go to and why?

Hmmm...so many choices but I guess I would go to Japan. I would go there for their culture, gardens, clothes, food, gadgets and the people.

Favourite stuff?

I love Snow Patrol, Melina Marchetta books, chicken avocado and mayo sandwiches, driving, designing, storms, tennis, going to the beach, being outside when it is just about to rain and you can smell the rain in the air and my ipod.

Three people you'd take to a desert island?

I think I would take Jamie Oliver, he could make sand taste like Pumpkin Risotto. My best friend for company and a scout leader (they know everything).

What will you be doing in 10 years?

I will hopefully be the owner of a graphic design company.

Why should you win this competition?

My design captures the essence of Destination because everyone has felt a little insecure during his or her life and if you are strong you can overcome this (open the cage) and fly to where ever you want. The design portrays the theme the most efficiently while still being a wearable T-Shirt.
