Concept statement
I wanted to inspire people to realize that they are their own passport to not only the world but their own destiny and identity. It's not only for the people who wear the t-shirt but for everyone who sees it, they need to stop and think; who or what is letting me live my life? Hopefully they realize that what they do, is their choice and they are in control of what happens. The things people do and places people go shape and make that person. You wear the t-shirt, so you chose your own destiny.
Where in the world would you go to and why?
It's hard for me to debate where I would most love to go.....naturally I want to see it all. However, I would love to continue my love affair with France. I am not only spell-bound by the culture of such an exotic country, but the people, food, traditions and language just blows me away! I study French at school, so naturally I want to fully explore the wonders of an ethnicity which captures the imagination of so many people.
Favourite stuff?
I like stuff! * television * the fridge * Ukrainian dancing * hanging out with friends * having a laugh * chilling with my sister (she's cool) * watching the world go by Basically in a nutshell.....I just love being me and living life!
Three people you'd take to a desert island?
Firstly, my mum because I just couldn't live without her cooking!!! One of the guys from Chaser's War on Everything. I don't care which one because they are all hilarious! Or if they didn't want to come, Borat....just for the laughs! Finally, Bill Gates because I he would find me so amusing and what to be my best friend, and give me his fortune (or half would be enough)
What will you be doing in 10 years?
When I grow up, I want to be a catipillar! jokes Seriously, I don't plan for things to happen. I just sit back and where ever the wind takes me, I'll be there. I see it like this: as long as I am doing things I love, with the people I love, free being me and laughing, I don't care!
Why should you win this competition?
That's a hard question, because no body likes a guy who blows his own trumpet but I would have to say that I put a lot of brain power into what message I wanted to send out from a simple t-shirt design. Finally I was happy with a design which reflect my personal ideals about human dignity: the freedom of choice. I believe that a person needs to recognise that they have to be free within themselves or else how can they be free? Where? When? In who can they feel comfort? I see that message in my design and if people realise that the only way they can escape the pressures and dogma of the society in which they live, is to be free in themsleves and chose their own destiny: then that's already a prize in itself.
