Concept statement

I was inspired, like many of us I think might be, by the vivid city lights of Japan. The synesthetic harmony of the many sights, smells, tastes and sounds is what I've tried to represent abstractly, as the journey to the nocturnal destination of Japan.

Where in the world would you go to and why?

I wouldn't mind going anywhere actually but if I could, I'd probably go to New Zealand. It was where I grew up and also where I visited my first real city.

Favourite stuff?

I don't really have favourites, I like anything pretty much but designing would definitely be a pastime.

Three people you'd take to a desert island?

I would take Johnny English, Sid from Ice Age and Squidward from Spongebob Squarepants for all the laughs.

What will you be doing in 10 years?

I have no idea at all but I wouldn't be surprised if it was something to do with designing.

Why should you win this competition?

I entered this competition because I wanted to prove to myself that I could give this competition a go. I never realised I could be a finalist but if I could go further it would be to prove to myself and to others that if you've got an idea then don't hold back, get on any computer, get any usable program or even just draw and transform your idea into a design.
