Concept statement
My design is simplistic, doesn't clutter and is outside of the box yet relates to Japan accurately. It is a light hearted design which represents the two main aspects of Japan, Nature and Technology. Mt. Fuji represents nature and all its beings in Japan as well as the past, traditional side of Japan. The robot represent the great technology in Japan and its future. The national flag the robot holds is symbolic of the rising sun on top of Japan (seeing as the robot is on top of the highest point). Finally, the clouds represent the high peak of Japan's success as a nation today. My shirt is beyond what is seen at first. It isn't what you typically see in Japan but it's the meaning inside. In conclusion, though this shirt is simple, it holds the meaning well. It takes a while to understand the meaning behind a silly little robot on a mountain. In addition, it is also quite cute to wear. I think. Oh come on! It's a robot on Mt. Fuji! Everyone loves a robot on Mt. Fuji!
Where in the world would you go to and why?
Funny as this seems, I'd like to go to Japan. Sense the irony! I don't want to repeat myself but I think that as a country, it is such a beautiful place to go to and has such great variety in activities and sights to see. On another level, I'd just want to see their flashy phones. Have you seen the one where you stick your finger in your ear to hear the person calling you? That is one spiffy idea!
Favourite stuff?
Item: Band aids Pastime: Frolicking in the poppy fields! Person: the RUDDSTER 8) Haha no. Erm, Paris Hilton (hint: sarcasm) Food: Ice cream! Movie: Uh.. I'm not sure. TBA Book: HP Series but it might be Twilight Series once I've finished reading haha! Magazine: None. I'm not a magazine person. Band: One of my favourite bands are Hellogoodbye.
Three people you'd take to a desert island?
Well first off, I'm not going to be stranded on the island with them so let's just take whoever we want because - well, heh. 1. Isaac Newton - because he's cool 2. The ice-cream man - because he's strangely very very kind to me and discounts my ice cream every fortnight and we all love discounts! 3. Kevin Rudd - because he's the PM of Australia at the moment so why not? He's awesomeeee.
What will you be doing in 10 years?
In 10 years, I shall be 25. I shall have wrinkles. I shall be using OLAY 7 SIGNS OF AGING. I shall be married/getting married soon. I shall live without my parents aid and be a pharmacist - not those shop ones, mind you. I shall be a different one! Actually, I'm still deciding on that Pharmacy idea. But whatever I shall be, I will be in that job in 10 years :] Oh oh oh! I will also have a gigantic llama. That speaks 46 different languages. I will also own 3 planets in the solar system and 5 species of the rare monaffe (cross between a monkey and a giraffe).
Why should you win this competition?
Why shouldn't I win this competition? Haha paradox! I don't know why I should win. I'm not being modest or of the sort but I'm not really the one to boast about my ever-so-cool shirt because- I'm an individual? Conforming is cool though for all you folks! To be honest, I just want my shirt printed and kind of embrace that hey-look!-i-designed-that-shirt feeling people get when .. they design shirts?
