Concept statement
My inspiration for my design is nature itself but mainly the beautiful cherry blossoms in Japan. I was thinking that if I ever went to Japan or any other country that I would want to spend at least one whole day exploring the landscapes and admiring all the native flora and fauna. I think people need to get out more and explore what's around you even in your home town/city. My design is a little abstract but I think it expresses my love for nature and this earth. Love nature, love life!
Where in the world would you go to and why?
Japan, to admire the beautiful cherry blossoms and explore the Japanese culture in depth. I found everything I learnt at school in my Japanese class so interesting. The language rocks too!
Favourite stuff?
Item: My computer / Pastime: Going to Pulse, the 14-18yrs youth group at Christian City Church Oxford Falls, every Friday! It's the best! Oh and graphic designing (obviously) / Food: Penne Bolognese / Movie: Pirates of the Caribbean and School of Rock / Book: The Holy Bible / Band: CCC Youth Band
Three people you'd take to a desert island?
My mum, my dad and my sister (that's the whole fam. they rock!!)
What will you be doing in 10 years?
Hopefully I will be working at a graphic and/or web design company or at a clothing company like Volcom or Insight, designing tshirts and stuff. That would be an awesome job!
Why should you win this competition?
I have been needing a laptop computer for a long time because I do work placement at a Graphic Design company in the city and a laptop would be so useful in taking my work around with me - I wouldn't have to be confined to my home computer. I am also in need of a laptop for school as I am doing graphic design in D&T and my school computers aren't very up-to-date. This would help in my HSC, also, as I will be graphic/web designing something and a laptop would mean that my teacher could watch my progress in class and be there to guide. But wait, there's more... I am in the design team at my youth group - designing t-shirts, newsletters, webpages, etc. and a laptop would make communication with my leaders in the design process much easier. PLUS my 17th birthday in on August 16th and this would be the best present EVER! :) Oh and I could also add this to my resume, which will hopefully help in making a good career. Pleeeaase pick me :) I would reeeaaally love to win so much!
