Concept statement

My initial reaction to the word 'flight' brought up images of childhood and the dream of soaring above the clouds I think we all feel at some stage in our childhood. The boy in the image relates to this as he shows us (or, presumably his parents/peers) that he can fly.

Where in the world would you go to and why?

I would love to goto Germany. My family's origins (although quite all over the place) predominantly came from Germany and ever sinse I learnt this it has fascinated me. Everyone who has been there has told me of the amazing culture which is so contrasting to our own here. I want to go to Germany to experience a different world and hopefully find a part of myself there.

Favourite stuff?

I love everything about design and art. Both are strong facets of my life and create a release for... everything. In regards to music it varies on my mood, but I listen to anything from the dark progressive metal of bands such as Riverside and the psycadelia of Porcupine Tree, to uplifting trance and chilled café jazz.

Three people you'd take to a desert island?

I would take three beatniks, one with a bongo, one with a book of poetry and one with a coffee machine. Then make jazz. And drink coffee. Dig it.

What will you be doing in 10 years?

I would be into the third year of running my own design firm, which has had it's pitfalls, but ultimately be re-warding. I'd be planning a trip around the world where I will visit as many art galleries as possible. And I'll be supporting my poor jazz playing friend with his next musical scheme.

Why should you win this competition?

The winner of this competition should win because his or her design is visually appealing, ties to the theme of flight and above all is wearable as a t-shirt because that was essentially what the breif required. If mine fits all of these criteria, which I feel it does, then that is why it deserves to win.
